Football Accumulator Tips – 26th to 28th December 2017

Christmas Day may be for spending time with family and friends but Boxing Day is all about sport. With eight Premier League matches to enjoy on the day itself and two more on the following evenings, this year’s post-Christmas period can also be about making profit from the bookies. We’ve produced three multiples of increasing odds to give you options as you sit back and enjoy the action.

Short Price – 11/10 (BetVictor)

  • Tottenham to beat Southampton (4/11) – Wembley Stadium may be a little quiet early on Boxing Day afternoon but the Spurs fans should end the match happy. Southampton are struggling badly and look set for another defeat.
  • Man United to beat Burnley (2/9) – Man United and Jose Mourinho resemble a wounded animal at the moment. They’ve suffered morale damaging defeats lately but their home form remains incredibly strong and United should end the challenge of this spirited Burnley side.
  • Man City to beat Newcastle (1/4) – Poor old Newcastle. They’re only hope now looks to be a change in ownership. Whatever happens off the pitch, the Magpies are a basket case on it and Man City are ready to take full advantage.

Medium Risk – 19/2 (Betfred)

  • Both teams to score in Bournemouth v West Ham (5/6) – Bournemouth and West Ham are both in a precarious position. They’ve done enough to pull away from the bottom three after tough spells but it won’t take much for either to get dragged back into the mess. Their meeting on Boxing Day could go either way and there should be goals for both sides.
  • Over 3.5 goals in Watford v Leicester (21/10) – If there’s anything tired defenders don’t like it’s being run at by pacey forwards. Given that Watford and Leicester are two of the best counterattacking teams in the Premier League it’s going to be a tough afternoon for the defences at Vicarage Road. Expect goals in a game in which both teams will be going all out for the win.
  • Liverpool to beat Swansea to nil (17/20) – Swansea fans can only hope that a change in manager will improve their fortunes. In truth, they’re the firm favourites for relegation and will do very well just to score against Liverpool at Anfield.

Long Shot – 151/1 (Betfair)

  • Tottenham to beat Southampton 1-0 (7/1) – Southampton seem to have just one gear away from home. Mauricio Pellegrino’s team do all they can to shut up shop and not much else. It doesn’t always work but the Saints will make Spurs work hard for the three points at Wembley on Boxing Day.
  • Man United to beat Burnley by one goal (3/1) – Burnley are incredibly tough to beat and will put up stern resistance at Old Trafford. Man United have generally been excellent at Old Trafford though and should do enough to secure a narrow win.
  • Crystal Palace to beat Arsenal (15/4) – It’s been a long time since Arsenal fans were content with their lot but their team’s form lately has been especially frustrating. The travelling Gunners fans will expect three points at Selhurst Park but this improving Crystal Palace side have more than enough to win again at home.
