European football made a very welcome return to our televisions last week. If you were lucky enough to tune in, you’d have seen some thrilling encounters in both the Champions League and Europa League. There is much more action promised this week with games in both competitions and to celebrate, we’ve put together three trebles of increasing odds to try and win big at the bookies.
Easy Winner – 7/5 (Sky Bet)
- Tottenham to beat Gent (30/100) – Spurs’ woes in Europe continued last week as a strong side were beaten away to Gent. They’ve been going through a pretty poor spell but Tottenham can turn that around with a win at Wembley in the return game.
- Over 1.5 goals in Ajax v Legia (2/7) – One of the big surprises of the first round of Europa League games was that the match between Ajax and Legia ended without a goal being scored. With the tie in the balance, expect a return to entertaining football in Amsterdam.
- Schalke to beat PAOK (4/9) – Schalke know that they have pretty much qualified having beat PAOK 3-0 away from home. However, there is no room for complacency and Schalke should win the second leg as well.
Medium Risk – 7/1 (BetVictor)
- Man City to beat Monaco (3/5) – Man City fans may be happy with their draw against Monaco but Pep Guardiola knows that his players are in for a tough evening. Monaco are top of Ligue 1 but if these two play to their best, City should at least win this first leg.
- Sevilla to beat Leicester to nil (6/5) – It must feel like an age ago for Leicester fans that their team was winning games in the Champions League. The Foxes took to life in Europe incredibly well but their form has since fallen off a cliff. Expect Sevilla to win this one and for Leicester’s poor form in front of goal to continue.
- Juventus to beat Porto (6/5) – After a poor start to the season, things are going much more to plan for Juventus. Max Allegri’s side are clear at the top of Serie A and can therefore divert most of their attention to the Champions League. Porto will be no pushovers but Juve have what it takes to take a lead into the second leg.
Long Shot – 39/1 (Bet365)
- Man City to beat Monaco and both teams to score (21/10) – As we’ve seen, Man City are the odds on favourites to beat Monaco but the French side are likely to make life more than a little tricky at the Etihad. City should take a lead into the second leg but it’s up to Monaco’s strikers how big that lead will be.
- Genk to beat Astra Giurgiu and both teams to score (11/4) – Genk and Astra played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in the first leg of their Europa League tie. Genk are the better side and should win but expect more drama and goals for both teams.
- Man Utd to beat St Etienne to nil (12/5) – Man Utd showed their dominance over St Etienne at Old Trafford and they should be able to win without conceding once more in France.
