The Premier League took yet more twists last weekend as Man City lost their first match and more teams got sucked into the heart of the relegation battle. Things are set up very nicely indeed for a cracking run in and every weekend has the potential to be pivotal. That’s certainly true of this weekend where the number of betting opportunities are so high we’ve created three accumulators for you.
Short Price – 7/4 (BetVictor)
- Over 1.5 goals in West Ham v Bournemouth (1/3) – There were six goals when Bournemouth and West Ham met at the Vitality Stadium. Another thrilling encounter may well be on the cards at the London Stadium.
- Man Utd to beat Burnley (11/20) – Quick as a flash, Burnley have gone from the darlings of the Premier League to the bottom reaches of the form table. Life doesn’t get any easier for the Clarets with the visit of a Man Utd team looking to prove the doubters wrong.
- Man City -1 goal handicap against Newcastle (1/3) – Pity Newcastle playing against Man City after their first defeat. With the Citizens set to send out a message to the chasing pack that nothing will derail their title bid the Magpies are in for a very tough afternoon.
Medium Risk – 5/1 (Ladbrokes)
- Under 2.5 goals in Brighton v Chelsea (4/6) – Brighton have lost much of their defensive shape recently. You can bet they’ll be working very hard on that in the lead up to their game against Chelsea. For the Blues, scoring goals has been the problem and they are on a run of three 0-0s. This could be a tight game with few clear cut chances.
- Over 2.5 goals in Stoke v Huddersfield (27/20) – Two of the Premier League’s most out of form teams meet at the Bet365 Stadium. Paul Lambert can only really make changes to Stoke’s mentality since taking over on Monday and he’ll be telling his new players to attack to get the fans on board. Huddersfield have to attack also as their defence is in poor shape so expect plenty of goals.
- Tottenham to beat Southampton (8/13) – We’re at the stage of Mauricio Pellegrino’s time at Southampton where people are betting on when, not if he will be sacked. The axe could well fall this weekend if Spurs win at St Mary’s as most people are expecting.
Long Shot – 149/1 (Bet365)
- Crystal Palace to beat Arsenal (19/4) – Arsenal were as bad as they’ve been in a long time against Bournemouth last weekend. That will give a resurgent Crystal Palace hope of pulling off an upset at the Emirates.
- Huddersfield to beat Stoke (3/1) – Stoke fans can only hope that their team will benefit from a new manager bounce. Paul Lambert has, however, only had a few days to work with his new players while David Wagner knows his team inside out. Huddersfield look too big for the win at 3/1.
- Chelsea to beat Brighton 2-0 (11/2) – 2-0 was the score when Brighton visited Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day and it could well be the score when Chelsea visit the Amex. The Blues should be comfortable as Brighton slide closer towards trouble.
