We are getting ever close to what Sir Alex Ferguson termed “squeaky bum time”. Those at the bottom of the Premier League are scrambling around for points to secure their top flight status while those closer to the summit still have European places to fight for, even if Chelsea look to have the title sewn up. So, let’s have a crack at picking some winners from the action with our three multiples below.
Easy Winner – 13/10 (Sky Bet)
- Tottenham to beat Bournemouth (30/100) – Tottenham absolutely steamrollered Watford last weekend and they’ve got a very good chance of another big win when Bournemouth, who are winless in three, visit White Hart Lane.
- West Ham/draw double chance against Sunderland (4/11) – Having put up a fight in recent seasons, Sunderland are sinking like a stone into the Championship this year. West Ham are hardly convincing but they should be able to avoid defeat at the Stadium of Light.
- Over 1.5 goals in West Brom v Liverpool (2/7) – Liverpool came from behind to beat Stoke last weekend and they’ll need to show similar levels of battle to win again when they visit the Hawthorns on Sunday. Expect chances for both teams in an end to end match.
Medium Risk – 4/1 (BetVictor)
- Over 2.5 goals in Southampton v Man City (7/10) – This could turn into the most entertaining game of the weekend. Both Southampton and Man City will fancy their chances of winning at St Mary’s so expect chances galore and plenty of goals.
- Stoke to beat Hull (20/21) – Stoke have lost their last four matches which has led to plenty of criticism heading Mark Hughes’ way. The Stoke manager will be desperate for a win and could well get it against Hull who are still very much in the relegation shake up.
- Arsenal to beat Middlesbrough (8/15) – Arsenal have lost four Premier League away games in a row for the first time in Arsene Wenger’s reign. The top four is slipping away but they’ll surely return to winning ways against Middlesbrough, who look every inch relegation certs.
Long Shot – 112/1 (Bet365)
- West Ham to beat Sunderland to nil (10/3) – West Ham picked up a big win to nil against Swansea last weekend and should be able to repeat the trick against Sunderland who have not scored a single goal since the 4th of February.
- Everton to beat Burnley with a -2 goal handicap (3/1) – Everton are on a cracking run of form at home with victory in each of their last seven matches at Goodison Park. Four of those wins have been by at least three goals and they can secure another such win against Burnley.
- 1-1 correct score in Man Utd v Chelsea (11/2) – Man Utd and Chelsea are very difficult sides to beat. Both Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte will be going for the win at Old Trafford but you get the feeling they’d settle for a draw. A low scoring draw looks like the most likely options from Sunday’s game so 11/2 is a good price for the 1-1 correct score.
