There is no rest in the Premier League in the build up to Christmas. After one of the most exciting weekends of the season to date, it’s right back to work on Tuesday and Wednesday. We’re expecting some surprise results along with some more predictable games which is why we’ve created three trebles of increasing odds for you to follow.
Short Price – 21/20 (Betfair)
- Chelsea to beat Huddersfield (1/3) – Chelsea may not be able to catch the Manchester clubs but they’re certainly good enough to guarantee Champions League football next season. Expect the Blues to heap more misery on Huddersfield on Tuesday.
- Man United to beat Bournemouth (1/4) – After a battle with Man City, Man United have a significantly more straightforward task when Bournemouth visit Old Trafford on Wednesday. United’s formidable home record should improve further against the Cherries.
- Liverpool to beat West Brom (2/9) – Alan Pardew will now understand the challenges faced by Tony Pulis at West Brom. Pardew has a good record when he starts new jobs but the Baggies are in trouble and will surely taste defeat again at Anfield.
Medium Risk – 35/2 (Betfred)
- Crystal Palace and Watford to draw (11/5) – No team remains a surprise package for very long in the Premier League. Teams of analysts and the best managers in the world quickly work you out so Crystal Palace will know exactly what to do against Watford. Whether they can pull it off is another matter but the draw looks well priced at 11/5.
- Over 2.5 goals in West Ham v Arsenal (8/13) – Although West Ham are improving at the back, this Arsenal side are capable of scoring multiple times against any defence. The Irons could also give the London Stadium something to cheer in this intriguing fixture.
- Leicester to beat Southampton (13/5) – Claude Puel found out just how ruthless life in Premier League management is last season. He tried to lay the foundations for future success at Southampton but was shown the door after failing to impress after just one season. Puel’s learnt the lesson and has started fast at Leicester so he may just get the last laugh against his former side on Wednesday.
Long Shot – 67/1 (Coral)
- Burnley to beat Stoke to nil (5/2) – Although Burnley are much improved on their travels, their matches at Turf Moor this season have been a little dull. Still, Sean Dyche won’t be complaining if another low scoring affair ends up with three points for the Clarets against Stoke.
- Tottenham and Brighton to draw (19/4) – Swansea, Burnley and West Brom have all left Wembley with a point this season. That will give Chris Hughton and his Brighton players confidence ahead of their trip to the national stadium on Wednesday. The Seagulls will need one of their best performances of the season but they’ve got enough about them to frustrate Spurs.
- Liverpool to score over 3.5 goals against West Brom (12/5) – Alan Pardew was brought in to West Brom to play more attacking football. The Baggies could end up with a hiding if Pardew takes that brief too literally at Anfield.
