Club football may be taking a short break until April, but there’s still plenty to keep us entertained from the internationals. Teams are back into the fight for qualification to the 2018 World Cup, as they aim to get 2017 off to a strong start. With just over six months until the qualifying campaign wraps up, there’s little time to lose for the major nations who are pushing for the next World Cup. Surely that will lead to a week of top class action in the European World Cup qualifiers?
While the international break isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, we see it as the perfect time for a both teams to score bet or two. The international clashes tend to have excellent BTTS odds, which is something worth taking advantage of. Friday 24th March 2017
- Republic of Ireland v Wales (11/10 with Ladbrokes) – The Irish are currently top of their qualifying group, so Wales need to win in Dublin on Friday night. They should go out and push for a goal here, so we can see this own opening up, with both teams ultimately finding the net.
- Croatia v Ukraine (29/20 with Betfair) – These two are facing off in a huge top of the group clash. These are two evenly matched sides, and we can see both teams getting on the scoresheet this weekend.
Saturday 25th March 2017
- Belgium v Greece (7/5 with BetVictor) – Greece have made an excellent come back in their World Cup push. They’re second behind Belgium in their group, which makes this a huge game. Belgium boss Roberto Martinez isn’t renowned for the defensive organisation of his teams, so we’re backing both teams to score in this one.
Sunday 26th March 2017
- Northern Ireland v Norway (11/10 with Coral) – Northern Ireland face one of their biggest rivals for a World Cup play-off spot, so we’re backing an evenly matched game this weekend in which both sides find the back of the net.
- Scotland v Slovenia (11/10 with Betfred) – Scotland have been really poor at the back so far, so Slovenia should have no trouble scoring here. However, Gordon Strachan needs his men to show some fight, so we’re backing BTTS at Hampden on Sunday.
- Montenegro v Poland (11/10 with Betfair) – Montenegro can move top of their group with a win this weekend, as they host leaders Poland. They’ve both scored in every game so far, and we can’t see that run ending for either side in this huge game.
- Romania v Denmark (21/20 with Bet365) – Behind those two are Romania and Denmark, who seem to be running out of time in their push for a play-off spot. They’ve both conceded at least a goal per game so far, so we’re backing BTTS when they clash this weekend.
