This weekend sees the group stages of both the Confederations Cup and the Under 21 European Championship wrap up. Both of these short events have barely got under way, but we’ve already seen some brilliant entertainment from both. With sides clamouring for semi-final spots, we expect some drama across the weekend in Poland and Russia. Just who will book a spot in the next round? Can England’s Under 21s hold on to top spot when they face hosts Poland?
With so much weekend action, this seems like a perfect few nights for a both teams to score accumulator. International matches tend to see great value on the BTTS market, so it’s worth taking a look through the coming action for any potential goalfests. - Serbia U21 v Spain U21 (4/6 with Bet365) – The Spanish had a mixed defensive record in qualifying against top sides, and we can see Serbia breaking through their backline. However, the Spaniards need a win to make the semis, so BTTS is the way to go here.
Saturday 24th June 2017
- Houston Dynamo v Dallas (8/13 with Sky Bet) – Houston are in brilliant form at home, and we expect them to continue that against poor travellers Dallas. However, the Dynamo have two only clean sheets in 16 at home, so we’re backing BTTS.
- Mexico v Russia (8/11 with Betfred) – Both of these sides are pushing for a semi-final spot, and we can see another entertaining tie following Mexico’s brilliant opener against Portugal. The Russians have been in great scoring form, so we’re backing goals.
- Italy U21 v Germany U21 (8/11 with Ladbrokes) – Both of these sides are fighting to make the next round, and they possess a scary amount of talent at this age group. There’s a lot of attacking quality on show, so we’re backing BTTS.
- Czech Republic U21 v Denmark U21 (10/11 with Betfred) – The Czechs didn’t show their attacking quality in their loss to Germany, but they’ve now conceded in their last six. Denmark can add to that this weekend, but the Czechs should find the net against a side who have conceded nine in their last four games.
Sunday 25th June 2017
- Chile v Australia (19/20 with Bet365) – Australia showed their attacking threat against world champions Germany, so we’re backing them to find the net against an attack-minded Chile.
- Germany v Cameroon (5/6 with BetVictor) – Germany’s inexperienced side seem to have major problems at the back, and we’re backing African champions Cameroon to exploit them. Having scored in five of their last six before heading to Russia, Cameroon do possess some attacking threat and you should never back against the Germans finding the net, so BTTS is the bet.
