While the summer’s big international tournaments have come to a close, there’s no end to this summer’s football. We’re already on the verge of the first European ties of the season being decided. This week sees the Europa League’s first qualifying round out of the way, with sides aiming for a European run. Can the British and Irish sides get through the qualifiers and make it to the group stage?
On top of the Europa League clashes, there’s also a full round of Major League Soccer action coming this week. The MLS sides love goals, so it’s usually the perfect league for a both teams to score accumulator. With plenty of football coming over the next few days, we’ve put together a few BTTS tips for the best of the midweek action. With crunch matches in Europe and the United States’ top tier in full swing, we can see a goal-packed week of football ahead. While the start of the new Premier League season may be over a month away, there’s no shortage of matches to bet on.

- LA Galaxy v Real Salt Lake (4/7 with Sky Bet) – LA Galaxy have been awful at home this season. The biggest side in America have the worst home record in MLS which should delight Real Salt Lake. Their last three here have seen BTTS, and we’re backing another high scoring game.
Thursday 6th July 2017
- Orlando City v Toronto FC (8/13 with Bet365) – Orlando have found things much easier at home than away this season, with 71% of their goals coming at their own ground. However, Toronto are impressive on the road, averaging over a goal per game on their travels.
- Houston Dynamo v Montreal Impact (8/13 with Ladbrokes) – Montreal have scored in their last five away games, while Houston have scored in every home game, so BTTS looks like good value here.
- Vancouver Whitecaps v New York City (2/5 with Sky Bet) – New York City are among the most clinical sides in the division, having scored in 94% of their matches. However, we see the Whitecaps adding to the 12 goals they’ve scored in their first eight home matches.
- Trakai v St Johnstone (8/13 with Bet365) – St Johnstone have an awful defensive record in Europe, as shown by their 2-1 defeat in the first leg. They’ll need to push forward here, which should give Trakai chances to score.
- Shamrock Rovers v Stjarnan (8/11 with Sky Bet) – Shamrock Rovers pulled off an impressive 1-0 victory first time around, which should set them up for a place in the second round. The Irish side are capable going forward, but we can see a decent Stjarnan outfit grabbing a goal here.
- Derry City v Midtjylland (17/20 with Betfair) – Derry were hammered 6-1 in the first leg, but they should be able to claw a little bit back in this home leg. However, we can’t see them stopping the Danes just a week after conceding six goals, so we’re backing both teams to score.
