While there’s an international break approaching, we still have wall to wall football for most of August. Internationals and transfer deadline day take up the focus at the end of the month, only after the line up for the Champions League group stage is decided. Alongside those clashes, there’s a full round of EFL Cup action, as sides look to book a place in the third round. With European and cup matches packed in to one week, there’s plenty of football for us to keep an eye on.
With top level action only just returning, it is pretty exciting to have so much going on once again. Between the top tier European clashes and the early stages of the EFL Cup, we should have quite a few entertaining games this week. With so much going on, this does feel like a great time for a both teams to score accumulator, and we’ve picked out a few tips if you’re looking for help putting one together. You can see our both teams to score tips below, which should help you when piecing together your next BTTS accumulator.
Tuesday, 22nd August 2017
- Astana v Celtic (8/13 with Bet365) – Having swept Astana aside at home, Celtic should be able to find the target here and grab an away goal. However, Astana have scored in all but one of their home Champions League ties.
- Nice v Napoli (4/7 with Sky Bet) – Napoli’s win in the first leg will force Nice to attack here, and we can see the Italians grabbing an away goal on the counter. However, we don’t see the visitors holding out at the back again.
- Rijeka v Olympiakos (19/20 with Betfair) – After scoring in Greece, we fancy Rijeka to make life difficult for Olympiakos at home. The Greek side should be able to grab an away goal, so BTTS looks like value here.
- Aston Villa v Wigan (4/5 with Betfred) – Given how Aston Villa have started the season, their defence seems vulnerable. They’re likely to rest men at the back for the cup too, so we see Wigan grabbing a goal.
- QPR v Brentford (4/6 with Betfred) – QPR don’t tend to take this competition seriously, but they should score here after making a strong start. Brentford are full of goals, and they need to push forward for a result after their early form.
Wednesday 23rd August 2017
- Liverpool v Hoffenheim (8/15 with Ladbrokes) – After their first leg, goals seem inevitable here. These two both have defensive concerns, so we’re backing a high scoring game. With Hoffenheim needing to get back in this tie, they have to come out and attack at Anfield, and we see them finding the net.
- Blackburn v Burnley (8/13 with Betfred) – Blackburn haven’t had the best start to the season, but that’ll be forgotten in this derby. Playing their local rivals under the floodlights should see them pour forward and grab a goal, so we’re backing BTTS here.
