After action from the FA Cup and EFL Cup, the Premier League returns this weekend. With another packed round of games, we’re looking forward to some entertaining clashes. With Man City’s trip to Liverpool headlining the weekend, there should be plenty of enjoyment to be had. As usual with the English top flight, we’re expecting a good number of goals in quite a few games, especially with a few sides hitting an awful run of form.
There’s plenty more than just Liverpool against Man City to look forward to across Saturday and Sunday, with some crucial relegation scraps. There’s also a significant game for Arsenal as they look to end an awful run of form, while Chelsea host Leicester as the champions push for the top four. Ahead of all of that, we’ve run through all the games and picked out our both teams to score tips for this weekend. Given how some of these sides are defending, we believe that we have a few solid picks across this week’s both teams to score predictions.
Saturday 13th January 2018
- Chelsea v Leicester (Evens with Ladbrokes) – Leicester have scored in nine of their last 11 meetings with teams in the current top half of the table. They managed to score twice against Chelsea earlier in the season, but they Blues still won that one. We think this could be another high scoring thriller, so we’re backing both teams to score.
- Huddersfield v West Ham (7/6 with Betfair) – West Ham have lost half of their away games, which has to be a worry for them heading into a crunch trip to Huddersfield. The Terriers have a solid record here and average over a goal per game, which has us backing BTTS at nice odds.
- Newcastle v Swansea (Evens with BetVictor) – The Magpies are on an awful run of form, and that’s got to concern the Toon Army ahead of this clash with a Swansea side buoyed by their big managerial switch.
- Watford v Southampton (3/4 with Coral) – Watford have been conceding goals a lot lately, keeping two clean sheets in 11. They’ve seen both teams score in their last five matches at home in the league, while they are up against a Saints side who are weakened at the back, but the visitors are finally scoring goals once again.
Sunday 14th January 2018
- Bournemouth v Arsenal (8/13 with Betfred) – Arsenal have struggled in their away games this season, losing four of their trips so far. The Gunners have struggled for wins throughout the past month, while they’ve conceded eight in their last four in the league, and four at Nottingham Forest in the cup. BTTS looks very much on the cards in this one.
- Liverpool v Man City (7/15 with Betfair) – These two brilliant attacking sides are bound to score in their meeting with weekend, given the quality they have going forward. City are blazing a trail at the top, and though Liverpool have sold Phillippe Coutinho they aren’t expected to have any major issues up top.
