Before your Instagram feed gets filled up by photos of footballers enjoying themselves in Dubai and Las Vegas there is work still to be done on the international scene. This weekend we’ve got a round of fixtures in European qualifying for the World Cup and we’ve capitalised on the bumper betting options by creating three accumulators of increasing odds for you below.
Easy Winner – 6/5 (BetVictor)
- Belgium to beat Estonia (2/15) – Belgium showed their attacking prowess when thrashing Estonia 8-1 in their meeting back in November. They’ve got another chance to take a big step towards the World Cup on Friday when they play Estonia again and Roberto Martinez’s side should oblige with a win.
- Poland to beat Romania (1/2) – Poland are unbeaten in Group E and are heavy favourites to make it out of qualifying and into the World Cup. Meanwhile, Romania are languishing in fourth, seven points behind. That’s a gap which should get even bigger after the two meet on Saturday.
- Italy to beat Liechtenstein and over 3.5 goals (2/7) – Italy are the overwhelming favourites to beat Lichtenstein when they meet on Sunday evening. The Azzurri need to keep amassing points to try and finish above Spain and should secure a big win as they head into the summer break.
Medium Risk – 17/2 (Sky Bet)
- Over 2.5 goals in Scotland v England (11/8) – Scotland have a very poor recent record against England but that won’t stop them from having a real go when the two meet at Hampden Park. We could be in for a very entertaining, blood and thunder meeting.
- France to beat Sweden (7/10) – France showed at Euro 2016 that they are back at the very top of world football. They’ll be many people’s choice for victory at the World Cup in Russia and should take another step towards the finals by beating Sweden on Friday.
- Ireland to beat Austria (7/5) – Ireland have made a great fist of their qualifying campaign so far. They are level on points with Serbia at the top of Group D and should be able to improve on their record with another big win against Austria at the Aviva Stadium.
Long Shot – 94/1 (Bet365)
- Serbia and Wales to draw (5/2) – Wales have had too many draws in their attempts to qualify for the World Cup. Chris Coleman’s men need to kick on but they may be frustrated with yet another draw against Serbia on Sunday evening.
- England to beat Scotland and both teams to score (7/2) – Scotland are going to give everything they’ve got against England. Gordon Strachan’s men should be able to grab a goal at Hampden Park but it’s unlikely they’ll be able to avoid defeat as England are playing well at the moment and have won the last three against the Auld Enemy.
- Ireland to beat Austria 1-0 (5/1) – Austria will make life very difficult for Ireland in Dublin. The home side should be able to get the win but they’ll have to work very hard for it. That makes 5/1 look a big price on the 1-0 score line.
