Manchester City could complete one of the most one-sided Premier League title races of all time this weekend. Pep Guardiola’s men need to win the Manchester derby to wrap the title up but while things are looking settled at the top of the table it’s far more chaotic down towards the bottom. Several teams are still scrapping for survival and while it’s no fun for their fans, we can hopefully profit from the action with our collection of three trebles below.
Easy Winner – 7/5 (Betfair)
- Over 1.5 goals in Everton v Liverpool (1/5) – Everton are in need of a lift and will hope to get one in the Merseyside derby. They’ll need to score multiple times to get the better of Liverpool though so expect an entertaining match at Goodison Park.
- Tottenham to beat Stoke (1/3) – A run of eight games without a win leaves Stoke in danger of coming detached with West Brom at the bottom of the table. Paul Lambert faces a huge task to turn things around with the visit of in form Tottenham to the Bet365 Stadium.
- Burnley to score against Watford (1/2) – Burnley will head to Watford confident of their chances of winning their third straight away game. The Hornets look as though they’re desperate for the end of the season and while they could nick a point at home, they’ll do very well to stop Burnley from scoring.
Medium Risk – 9/1 (Bet365)
- Brighton to beat Huddersfield (10/11) – Just when Brighton were starting to get comfortable they lost at home to Leicester last weekend. The Seagulls probably need just one more win to be safe and they should get it against a Huddersfield side who haven’t even scored in four.
- Both teams to score in West Brom v Swansea (20/23) – It’s been clear for some time that the West Brom players were no fans of Alan Pardew. You’d expect an upturn in their application levels now Pardew has left the club but Swansea should be able to at least breach this porous West Brom defence.
- Arsenal to beat Southampton to nil (19/10) – Southampton have been woeful lately. Scoring enough goals is a particular problem for Mark Hughes’ new charges and Arsenal should have a comfortable enough afternoon on Sunday.
Long Shot – 41/1 (Coral)
- Bournemouth and Crystal Palace to score and both teams to score (3/1) – Bournemouth are coasting towards the end of the season but they’re still a dangerous side going forwards. The Cherries should score against Crystal Palace but they’ll do well to get all three points as the Eagles continue to fight against the drop.
- Under 1.5 goals in Leicester v Newcastle (12/5) – Newcastle look as though they are going to avoid the drop. Rafa Benitez won’t be comfortable just yet though so expect the Magpies to turn in an ultra-defensive performance away to Leicester.
- Man City to beat Man United to nil (21/10) – A slower, defensive performance from Man United could actually suit Man City after their Champions League exploits in midweek. The home side will have to work hard but their quality should see them over the line in the match and the title race.
