The Christmas period always provides a huge amount of drama as teams have next to no time to overcome concerns about fitness and form and the games keep on coming. Easy Winner – 6/5 (BetVictor)
- Over 1.5 goals in Man City v Chelsea (2/9) – The biggest game of the weekend is first up as Chelsea travel to Manchester to take on Man City. It’s a match that both will believe they can win so goals are expected at the Etihad.
- Over 1.5 goals in Crystal Palace v Southampton (1/3) – Crystal Palace absolutely must win on Saturday in order for Alan Pardew to keep his job. That won’t be easy against Southampton so they’re going to have to score more than once to have a chance.
- Tottenham to beat Swansea (1/3) – Swansea just about got their second win of the season against Crystal Palace but Spurs won’t be anywhere near as generous on Saturday following their first defeat.
Medium Risk – 27/2 (Sky Bet)
- Under 2.5 goals in Stoke v Burnley (5/6) – Burnley have surely learnt their lesson from the 4-0 defeat against West Brom. Sean Dyche’s men will be sent out to keep the score down. This is unlikely to be first on Match of the Day.
- Man City and Chelsea to draw (5/2) – Man City and Chelsea are happy with the way things are going currently. They look set to battle it out at the top of the table come the end of the season and will both be happy with a point at the Etihad.
- Liverpool to beat Bournemouth and over 2.5 goals (5/4) – The way that Bournemouth take the game to their opposition is commendable but it often leads to them throwing away good positions in games. The Cherries should score against Liverpool but it’ll be a surprise to see anything other than an away win.
Long Shot – 47/1 (Bet365)
- Southampton to beat Crystal Palace and over 2.5 goals (11/4) – This could well be Alan Pardew’s last stand at Selhurst Park. Many Southampton fans would love their side to be the one to hammer the final nail into Pardew’s coffin but with the Eagles fighting for their lives, the Saints will have to score two or three to get the win.
- West Ham and Arsenal to draw (14/5) – While West Ham have been slowly improving of late, Arsenal’s form has dropped a little from the high standards they set at the start of the season. The Irons could continue moving forwards with a point at the London Stadium.
- Everton and Man Utd to draw (12/5) – It’s fair to say that fans of both Everton and Man Utd are desperate for a big win at Goodison Park on Sunday. However, with neither side playing well, they may be forced to settle for a point apiece.
