This week sees the semi finals in both the Champions League and Europa League. Some of the sides who have made it this far were predictable while others have confounded the odds to reach this stage. With four cracking fixtures to enjoy, we’ve picked out our best selection of bets to make three trebles for you to get your teeth stuck into below.
Easy Winner – evens (BetVictor)
- Over 1.5 goals in Monaco v Juventus (2/7) – Juventus may have one of the best defensive units in Europe but even they will find it tough to stop this thrilling Monaco side from scoring.
- Over 1.5 goals in Ajax v Lyon (2/11) – Ajax have a brilliant record at home in European football but they’ll have to be at their best to stop Lyon. This should be a very entertaining game at the Amsterdam Arena.
- Draw/Man Utd double chance against Celta Vigo (1/3) – Celta Vigo have done very well to make it to this stage of the Europa League but Man Utd represent a big step up in class. The away side should be able to avoid defeat in Spain.
Medium Risk – 7/2 (Sky Bet)
- Real Madrid to beat Atletico Madrid (5/6) – Real Madrid know just what they’ll be up against when they travel to the Vicente Calderon for the second leg against Atletico. So, expect Zinedine Zidane’s men to make the most of their home leg by winning at the Bernabeu.
- Monaco/draw double chance against Juventus (4/7) – Monaco have been able to navigate every step so far in the Champions League but Juventus are far and away their toughest opponents. However, the Ligue 1 side should be able to avoid defeat before giving it a good go in Turin.
- Under 2.5 goals in Celta Vigo v Man Utd (8/13) – Man Utd are much the stronger side compared to Celta Vigo. That doesn’t mean, however, that they will go all out for the win in Spain. Expect a safety first approach from Jose Mourinho and a low scoring game.
Long Shot – 219/1 (Bet365)
- Monaco to beat Juventus and both teams to score (9/2) – If Monaco are to pick up a massive win against Juventus, chances are they’ll have to score more than once. Juventus are not only strong at the back, they’ve got wonderful attacking players so should manage a goal in this cracking fixture.
- Ajax to beat Lyon and both teams to score (3/1) – In order for Ajax to take a win to defend in the second leg in France, they’ll have to turn in one of their best performances of the season. Lyon will likely be able to score but the home side are very good from an attacking perspective when they get up a head of steam so should finish this first leg in the lead.
- Man Utd to beat Celta Vigo 1-0 (9/1) – Jose Mourinho will demand a fully committed performance from his players against Celta Vigo. That means defending resolutely while taking their chances up front. That makes the 2-0 scoreline look like the best option available to us.
