Easy Winner – 9/5 (Bet365)
- Arsenal to beat Besiktas (3/10) – Arsenal let us down badly last week as they limped to a draw in Turkey, but with so much at stake we fancy they will do the business at the Emirates on Wednesday and give us a winning start to our acca.
- Leicester to beat Shrewsbury (1/2) – Premier League Leicester host League Two Shrewsbury Town in the League Cup on Tuesday and even if Nigel Pearson decides to rest some players we fancy the Foxes will make short work of their visitors here.
- Bayer Leverkusen v FC Copenhagen: over 2.5 goals (4/9) – The first leg between these sides ended 3-2 to the Germans and we fancy a similarly exciting encounter when they meet again on Wednesday. We might not get another five goals, but we are very confident of getting at least three.
Medium Risk – 9/1 (Sky Bet)
- Derby to beat Charlton (8/11) – Derby might have lost 3-2 when visiting Charlton a couple of weeks ago, but we fancy they will be able to exact revenge when they clash in the League Cup on Tuesday. Steve McClaren’s men look a solid enough price to get the victory and to start our medium risk acca in positive fashion.
- Napoli to beat Athletic Bilbao (9/4) – Napoli underperformed badly in their first leg against Bilbao but we fully expect Rafa Benitez to guide his men to the promised land of the Champions League group stage with victory here. Odds of 9/4 are very much on the long side and we think they’re well worth snapping up as part of this acca.
- Salzburg to beat Malmo (3/4) – Salzburg won their first leg against Malmo, but they too could be said to have underperformed somewhat. When many were predicting a big win for the Austrians, they instead edged a tense match 2-1. But we fancy they will turn on the style in the return leg and win handsomely, completing a tasty profit-making accumulator for us in the process.
Long Shot – 43/1 (Coral)
- Celtic to beat Maribor by one goal (5/2) – While Celtic are strong favourites to beat Slovenian side Maribor on Tuesday, we think they won’t have it all their own way. Whilst we feel they will have enough to scrape the victory, we also think it will be close, making the 5/2 for the hosts to win by a single goal look very good value.
- Leverkusen v Copenhagen: draw (4/1) – A draw would be enough for the Germans to go through and though the Danes will no doubt be pushing hard for victory we feel they will only get close enough to heighten the disappointment when they get ejected from the tournament. Odds of 4/1 look great value here.
- Arsenal to win 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 (6/4) – A nice bet covering three possible correct score outcomes completes our final acca and though Arsenal will be aiming for a big win, they are aware that any victory will do and after what will be a tough match against Everton at the weekend, Arsene Wenger will certainly settle for a narrow win against Besiktas on Wednesday.
