The Premier League got back underway last weekend in style as the top four sides from last season all won their opening matches. The same won’t happen in the second round of games, however, as Liverpool travel to Man City is what looks a mouth-watering encounter. With plenty more exciting games to pick from, here we bring you three football accumulators to help you win a pile of cash. The size of that pile of cash is up to you (and Lady Luck) as we present an easy winner, a medium risk and long shot acca so you can pick which suits your risk aversion and bankroll.
Easy Winner – 11/5 (BetVictor)
- Chelsea to beat Leicester (2/9) – Chelsea looked assured, solid and creative in their opener away to newly promoted Burnley on Monday night and we feel they will have more than enough to overcome Leicester in a similar manner. Diego Costa offers that killer instinct in front of goal and Cesc Fabregas pulls the strings in the middle of the park. In short, a comfortable home win.
- Swansea to beat Burnley (4/6) – Burnley might be a little out of their depth in the Premier League and with Swansea flying high after their impressive 2-1 victory over Man United at Old Trafford, we can see only one winner in this one.
- Hull v Stoke: under 2.5 goals (4/7) – Neither side is particularly attacking by nature and Hull have also sold their best striker, Shane Long. With just one goal scored over the two league matches between these teams last term, backing unders has to be the call.
Medium Risk – 9/1 (Bet365)
- Southampton to beat West Brom (17/20) – Southampton might have lost some key members of their squad as well as their manager, but they gave it a right good go against Liverpool at Anfield in their opener and they looked the better side for most of the game. West Brom rarely travel well and given they lost home and away to the Saints last term we think Ronald Koeman’s men will do the business here.
- Everton v Arsenal: over 2.5 goals and both teams to score (evens) – Two attacking sides with plenty of creativity go head to head at Goodison this weekend and we anticipate a cracker of a match. Though it really could go either way we think both sides will be giving everything for the win with the main result being plenty of goals.
- Man City v Liverpool: Man City to win and over 2.5 goals (7/4) – Liverpool are simply not the same side without Luis Suarez and while they will no doubt give it their all on Monday night at the Etihad, we think the superior talent at the disposal of Manuel Pellegrini’s men will ultimately win out. That’s not to say Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling won’t find a consolation goal or two of course.
Long Shot – 90/1 (Sky Bet)
- Everton to be winning at half time and full time (7/2) – When Arsenal visited Goodison last season they got a real shock as they were beaten 3-0. As the Gunners have a tricky trip to Turkey to negotiate on Tuesday, there is every chance the Toffees could repeat that performance on Saturday, making this look a tasty addition to our acca.
- Sunderland to beat Man United (7/2) – A long shot in some people’s eyes, but Sunderland beat United twice last season and will certainly fancy doing so again here after Louis van Gaal’s men looked rather tepid in defeat against Swansea last weekend.
- Man City to win both halves (7/2) – City were imperious on home soil for much of last season and beat five of the sides that finished in the top half by a margin of three goals or more. Liverpool looked ragged in their opener against Southampton while City looked assured away at Newcastle. With confidence high and a squad that offer a dynamic mix of experience and hunger, we think City will cruise to victory on Monday night.
