The group stages of the Champions League and Europa League do not always provide the most entertaining football but the knockout stages certainly can. Just look at Barcelona’s ridiculous comeback against PSG or the first leg between Man City and Monaco. This week we’ve got second leg ties in both competitions so we’ve gone through the betting options to provide you with three tasty trebles below.
Easy Winner – evens (Sky Bet)
- Over 1.5 goals in Leicester v Sevilla (2/9) – Leicester will take heart from their late goal against Sevilla in Spain. However, they will have to score, probably more than once, to have any chance of qualifying. Sevilla’s attack will be incredibly tough for the Foxes to stop.
- Both teams to score in Monaco v Man City (30/100) – It’s fair to say Monaco and Man City are stronger going forwards than they are at the back. With more attacking football expected at the Stade Louis II, both teams should get on the scoresheet.
- Man Utd to beat Rostov (1/4) – Man Utd hardly enjoyed their first leg against Rostov but they’ll surely have it much easier at Old Trafford. Mourinho’s men should progress to the quarter finals with no trouble.
Medium Risk – 8/1 (BetVictor)
- Monaco to beat Man City (8/5) – Man City’s position in their Champions League leg is a little precarious. Monaco are a very strong side at home and should get the win so City’s job is to ensure they’re in a position to qualify even if they’re behind in the match.
- Atletico Madrid to beat Bayer Leverkusen (8/13) – Atletico Madrid came out on top of a thrilling game against Bayer Leverkusen in the first leg. They scored four away goals but will want to keep things much tighter at home. Expect them to control the flow of the game and win to qualify.
- Over 3.5 goals in Roma v Lyon (23/20) – Lyon put four past Roma in the first leg which suggest the second leg will be another high scoring affair. The match at the Stadio Olympico should provide plenty of drama and goals with the home side doing all they can to overturn the two goal deficit Lyon secured in France.
Long Shot – 69/1 (Bet365)
- Juventus to beat Porto to nil (6/4) – Juventus were able to secure a routine win against Porto in Portugal even without Leonardo Bonucci at centre back. With the return to their home stadium and the reintegration of Bonucci, Juventus should be even more comfortable in the second leg.
- Sevilla to beat Leicester and both teams to score (3/1) – Confidence is finally high in the Leicester squad thanks to wins over Hull and a lacklustre Liverpool side. However, taking on Sevilla is another challenge entirely. Leicester should be able to score but Sevilla can return to Spain with a win and a place in the quarter finals.
- Man Utd to beat Rostov 3-0 (6/1) – Rostov are no mugs but Man Utd are a much better side who are highly motivated to go on and win the Europa League. Mourinho’s men should be able to record a comfortable win.
