We’re down to the penultimate weekend of the Premier League season. There is still plenty to be sorted out at both ends of the table even though we’ve got so little football still to go. We can be promised great drama this weekend which is why we’ve put together our selection of the best bets from the three days of action into three trebles below.
Easy Winner – evens (Sky Bet)
- Chelsea to beat West Brom (11/4) – West Brom’s season came to an abrupt halt a few weeks ago and they’ve lost their last three at home. Expect Chelsea to extend the Baggies’ losing streak and secure the title at the same time.
- Man City to beat Leicester (1/4) – Leicester have improved significantly since Craig Shakespeare took over but it’s hard to see them avoiding defeat at the Etihad.
- Over 1.5 goals in Stoke v Arsenal (1/6) – Stoke are another side who have pretty much limped over the finish line. They always raise their game at home against Arsenal though so we could be in store for a hugely entertaining match.
Medium Risk – 9/2 (BetVictor)
- Everton to beat Watford (4/9) – Everton are looking to put the finishing touches on an impressive first season under Ronald Koeman. Koeman’s opposite number, Walter Mazzarri, has also done a good job in his first year at Watford but the way they’ve finished the season means it could also be his last year. This looks a home banker.
- Over 2.5 goals in Middlesbrough v Southampton (3/4) – Everybody at Middlesbrough is hugely disappointed to be relegated but the club is not actually in too bad a state. They’ll already be planning for next year and with the pressure now off, the players should be able to turn in a strong performance even if the travelling Saints are usually good for a goal.
- Under 2.5 goals in West Ham v Liverpool (11/10) – West Ham have tightened up considerably at the back since Adrian came back in goal and they switched to three at the back. Given that Liverpool had problems breaking down a stubborn Southampton last weekend we could be in for another tight affair.
Long Shot – 71/1 (Bet365)
- Chelsea to beat West Brom 1-0 (6/1) – It took an individual mistake for Chelsea to score against West Brom at Stamford Bridge. The Baggies won’t roll over this time around either but could end up losing their fourth home game in a row by a 1-0 score line.
- Bournemouth to beat Burnley and both teams to score (11/4) – The pressure is off for both Bournemouth and Burnley. That should result in an entertaining game but the Cherries are most likely to win given their decent run of form and Burnley’s poor away record.
- Tottenham to beat Man Utd to nil (7/4) – Jose Mourinho has already given up on the league and will be risking nothing at White Hart Lane. Tottenham should put their title disappointment behind them to win their last game at the famous old ground to nil.
