It’s the fifth round of matches in the group stage of the Champions League this week and there is certainly a lot at stake. Last time out was (to put it mildly) a disappointing week for English teams in the competition. They’ll all be hoping for a turnaround in form in this set of fixtures.

Easy Winner – Evens (Sky Bet)
- PSG v Ajax: PSG to win (1/3) – PSG are now unbeaten in 31 matches at home in European football (Champions League and Europa League) after their win over APOEL last time out. They should be too strong for Ajax, and are 1/3 with Sky Bet to see off the Dutch champions in Paris, which are good value odds in our eyes.
- APOEL v Barcelona: Barcelona to win (1/4) – It’s a David versus Goliath face off in Cyprus this week and we’re backing Goliath every day of the week. The Catalan giants should be easy winners in this one.
- BATE Borisov v Porto: Porto to win, draw no bet (2/9) – BATE Borisov will be glad to see the back of Shakhtar, who completely destroyed them in their last two game weeks. The bad news is, Porto are now in town and bring an equally talented squad looking to bang in the goals. Porto draw no bet is 2/9.
Medium Risk – 4/1 (BetVictor)
- Man City v Bayern, Bayern to win (23/20) – Man City, despite the riches in their squad, look like fish out of water in the Champions League currently. Their campaign is faltering badly, and the visit of one of Europe’s elite isn’t the easiest game with which to get back on track. Bayern look great value at 23/20 to win this one.
- Shakhtar Donetsk v Athletic Bilbao: Shakhtar to win (8/13) – As we mentioned above, Shakhtar had good fun in battering Borisov twice in a row and will be brimming with confidence heading into this one. Despite possessing a talented squad, Bilbao lack Champions League experience, something that is needed in spades when visiting a team like Shakhtar. The home side look good for the win at 8/13.
- Arsenal v Dortmund: both teams to score (8/15) – Here are two teams that play very attractive brands of football and both are stacked with goal scoring options. With Dortmund guaranteed to go through, this game could be a higher scoring one than usual. It’s 8/15 that both teams find the net and that looks a fair price to us.

Long Shot – 54/1 (BetVictor)
- CSKA Moscow v Roma: CSKA to win (9/5) – These are two closely matched teams, but CSKA have a big home advantage in this one and therefore look good value at 9/5 to take the victory.
- Ludogorets v Liverpool: 0-0 half time score (8/5) – This is likely to be a cagey affair at first. Liverpool really miss the goal threat of Daniel Sturridge and will probably look to nick a win in the second half.
- Bayer Leverkusen v Monaco: Leverkusen to win 1-0 (13/2) – Monaco have a ridiculous Champions League record. They’ve scored one, conceded one, yet have five points. Therefore, this could well be a low scorer, but Leverkusen should have enough about them to edge the win.
