After a great week of European football, the second leg clashes are right around the corner. We’ll finally find out who will be competing for trophies in Cardiff and Stockholm, although we already have a pretty good idea. The second leg clashes in the Champions League and Europa League are far from wide open, with last week’s results potentially making the coming games almost dead rubbers. If you want some extra interest on the midweek clashes, it might be worth considering a both teams to score bet or two or perhaps an accumulator.

- Juventus v Monaco (8/11 with Sky Bet) – The French side may have been stopped at their own ground, but they’ve hit three goals in trips to Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City in the previous rounds, so we can see them getting a goal here. However, Juve have too much attacking talent to draw a blank at home.
Wednesday 10th May 2017
- Atletico v Real Madrid (6/10 with Betfair) – Atletico were punished for attacking too early against Real in the last encounter, but Diego Simeone has to get his men pushing forward here. Atleti will want to score in their final European game at the Vicente Calderon, but we can’t see them stopping this lethal Real side.
- Southampton v Arsenal (8/15 with Betfred) – Wednesday night also sees Arsenal in action, and their recent defensive record has us backing Southampton to score. However, the Saints look disorganised without Virgil van Dijk, so we’re backing BTTS.
Thursday 11th May 2017
- Manchester United v Celta Vigo (4/5 with Bet365) – Celta Vigo may have drawn a blank at home, but an away goal will make up for that here. However, United have scored in 100% of their home European games, so we’re going with BTTS.
- Lyon v Ajax (8/15 with Bet365) – Lyon’s consolation in Amsterdam means that all seven of their knockout matches have seen both teams scoring. We expect that run to continue as they try to get back in this tie.
Friday 12th May 2017
- Everton v Watford (4/5 with Coral) – Everton’s season is effectively over, which makes this game a bit of a dead rubber. The Toffees fell apart defensively at home to Chelsea last time out, while Watford have scored in every Premier League trip to Goodison.
- West Brom v Chelsea (4/5 with BetVictor) – Chelsea have conceded in six of their last seven away in the Premier League and the Blues should score here as they go chasing the Premier League title.
