The Premier League has packed a punch after returning from the international break. Following the weekend’s matches, we have a full round of midweek games as the top flight moves towards the latter stages of the campaign. With three matches in the space of a week, these are crucial days at the top and bottom of the table. But, just what do we have to look forward to this week?
The midweek round isn’t short of big games, as four of the top seven go head to head for the second time this week. This time around it’s Manchester United v Everton, while Chelsea host Manchester City. Those are the stand out matches from Tuesday and Wednesday night respectively. Ahead of the two big nights of football, we’ve picked out some both teams to score tips for midweek. The Premier League is no stranger to goals this term, and we’re hoping that’s the case this week, as we could land a big BTTS accumulator.
Tuesday 4th April 2017
- Burnley v Stoke (10/11 with Bet365) – Stoke have found the net in 76% of their Premier League games, and they’ll be hopeful of adding to that against the Clarets, who have a great scoring record at Turf Moor.
- Leicester v Sunderland (10/11 with Betfred) – Leicester are in brilliant scoring form at the moment, but they’re very questionable at the back. Sunderland will fancy their chances of getting a goal in this game, so we’re backing both teams to score.
- Manchester United v Everton (19/20 with Betfair) – With United welcoming back Zlatan Ibrahimovic, they should have plenty of goal threat up top. However, Everton have the league’s top scorer in Romelu Lukaku, and he should threaten the Red Devils’ backline.
Wednesday 5th April 2017
- Arsenal v West Ham (4/6 with Ladbrokes) – There’s little about the Arsenal defence which inspires confidence. The Gunners are so shaky in the air, and they’re completely disorganised. Something tells us that this is a perfect game for West Ham’s Andy Carroll. However, Arsenal have scored in 92% of their home games, so we’re backing BTTS.
- Swansea v Tottenham (8/11 with Betfred) – Tottenham should have little trouble breaking through the leakiest defence in the top flight, while the Swans have scored in 72% of their games this term.
- Chelsea v Manchester City (4/6 with Ladbrokes) – City come here having scored in 12 straight meetings with Chelsea, while the hosts haven’t failed to find the net in any home game this season. That screams BTTS, which is certainly worth backing.
- Liverpool v Bournemouth (5/6 with Coral) – After a 4-3 thriller in their first meeting, these two sides should share a few more goals on Wednesday. Bournemouth have scored in five straight away games, while the Reds have found the net in their last 11 outings at Anfield. That has us backing a high scoring game, and BTTS looks like great value.
