Six of the 10 games last weekend saw both teams score and this article will aim to pick out five of the 10 games we think will end this way this time around.
As Premier League games have often been difficult to call, selecting BTTS may be a better option than betting on match results, not least because the bet is alive right until the final whistle however much a side may be losing by.
Included in our picks this week are the Merseyside derby and the north London derby as well as some games which could possibly have huge ramifications at the bottom of the table as the spectre of relegation already begins to rear its ugly head.

- Liverpool v Everton (8/13 with Ladbrokes) – The Merseyside derby is renowned for being one that features many a goal and we expect this to be the same with both sides seemingly finding defending extremely difficult at the minute. Last time Liverpool met Everton in an early kick off both teams scored in a thrilling 3-3 draw and we can see the same outcome of both teams scoring again here especially considering the defensive woes currently plaguing these two.
- Crystal Palace v Leicester City (19/20 with Ladbrokes) – The Foxes come into this game after inflicting an impressive and exciting 5-3 win over big spenders Manchester United whilst Neil Warnock got his first win in his second spell as Palace manager against Everton at Goodison Park. Both these sides’ games from last weekend also saw both teams score and we can see this one being the same at nice odds.
- Sunderland v Swansea (9/10 with Ladbrokes) – Last time Swansea travelled to Sunderland they recorded a 3-1 victory and we can envisage both teams scoring again here. Swansea have conceded in the last two games in which they’ve played but also look handy going forward with Garry Monk getting his side to play entertaining and fruitful football, as has long been the Swansea way. The hosts are still without a win this season but have been quite unlucky to find themselves in this position and we can see them scoring too. Due to these reasons this is one of our five picks.

- West Bromwich Albion v Burnley (20/21 with BetVictor) – After drawing blanks in the last five games in all competitions surely Burnley are due a goal in the game against an Albion side who recorded their first win of the season last time out. All of the last five meetings between these sides have seen both teams score and we expect the same to happen again in Sunday’s only top flight game.
Monday 29th September 2014
- Stoke City v Newcastle United (Evens with Coral) – All the Monday night games this season have finished with goals for either side and we expect this trend to continue as the Magpies visit Stoke. Both sides drew 2-2 last weekend with Newcastle showing some resolve to come back from two down. Peter Crouch was also back in the goals against QPR whilst Mame Biram Diouf continues to impress.
