Tuesday 19th August 2014
- Besiktas v Arsenal (20/23 with BetVictor) – Arsenal should have enough firepower to get past Besiktas of Istanbul in Turkey, but the home side will know they need to go all out for victory to give themselves even half a chance of making it through to the Champions League group stage. As such, both teams to score looks a decent option to us at these odds.
- Leeds United v Brighton (7/10 with Ladbrokes) – It looks like being a long and tumultuous season for Leeds United this season, but with their home fans behind them we expect them to put on a decent performance here and probably nick the win. Brighton are no mugs though and Sami Hyppia’s men should be good for a goal at least, making this a safe enough bet.
- Cardiff City v Wigan Athletic (4/6 with Bet365) – Two of the favourites for the Championship title go head to head in South Wales on Tuesday in what looks like being a very entertaining encounter. Goals are almost assured and we would be very surprised if either side managed to keep a clean sheet such is the attacking talent on display.
- Copenhagen v Bayer Leverkusen (17/20 with Ladbrokes) – While Leverkusen are strong favourites to progress to the group stages of Europe’s elite competition, Copenhagen have the capacity to cause the Germans problems, as they showed when scoring home and away against Galatasary and Juventus last season. Both to score looks top value here.
- Bolton v Middlesbrough (8/11 with Betfred) – Bolton and Middlesbrough both have ambitions of making the play offs at least this season and both will be going all out for the three points here. A tough match to call in terms of the match result, we could see it ending 1-1 or 2-2, but either way getting on both teams to score looks a solid option.
Wednesday 20th August 2014
- Fulham v Wolves (10/11 with Sky Bet) – Fulham were relegated from the Premier League while Wolves came up from League One, but there will be little between the sides when they meet at Craven Cottage on Wednesday. If anything we would think Kenny Jackett’s men could have the edge, but Fulham should have enough to get at least a goal so back goals galore in this one and pocket a tidy profit.
- Maribor v Celtic (5/6 with BetVictor) – Celtic were handed a lifeline in this season’s Champions League and will aim to take full advantage when they visit Solvenian side Maribor on Wednesday. Whilst the Scots should progress, given that they lost to Kazakhstani minnows Shakhter Karagandy last season, we feel the home side will get on the scoresheet and bring us a nice return from our both to score bet.
