- Brazil v Mexico (13/10 with BetVictor) – Brazil are undoubtedly superb going forward but at the back serious questions remain, despite the brilliance of Thiago Silva. They have two highly attacking full backs, a questionable goalkeeper and David Luiz. PSG may be paying £50m for Luiz but he will always make mistakes and Mexico showed enough in their first game to suggest they can score here, making BTTS very good value at odds of 13/10 with BetVictor.

- Spain v Chile (4/5 with Bet365) – Spain lost their first game 5-1 to Holland whilst Chile beat Australia 3-1 and both sides are undoubtedly better going forward than they are at the back. Chile in particular are highly aggressive and whilst Spain are normally hard to break down their defence is sure to have been rocked by their opening match thumping and both teams to score looks a great bet here. Spain have to win this one and we think it could be a thriller.

- Colombia v Ivory Coast (10/11 with Betfred) – Colombia won their opener 3-0 whilst Ivory Coast beat Japan 2-1 and this one could be a cracking match between teams looking to top Group C. Even without Radamel Falcao the South Americans have good attacking options and Ivory Coast are powerful and quick and we think this could end 2-2 – but whatever the final score, both teams to score looks good.
- Uruguay v England (evens with Coral) – BTTS was a winning bet for both of these sides’ opening games, Uruguay losing 3-1 to Costa Rica, England going down 2-1 to Italy. Both look far better going forward than they do defending and whether Luis Suarez plays or not we really like the look of both teams to score at great odds with Coral. England’s young, fast attacking play, with Raheem Sterling really coming to the fore, will definitely trouble an aging Uruguay backline but we just don’t think England’s back four are up the task and with this a must-win game for both sides we predict at least a goal each – and probably a lot more – in this one.

- Italy v Costa Rica (11/8 with BetVictor) – Backing BTTS is an outsider here at odds of 11/8 with BetVictor but we think it’s worth a punt, especially if Gianluigi Buffon remains injured for the Italians. Costa Rica are big underdogs here but they showed some good attacking play against Uruguay whilst Italy were far from watertight against England and so both teams to score is strong value at 11/8 in a World Cup where the goals keep flying in from all angles.
