The Premier League campaign is showing little sign of slowing down, despite the title arguably being in the bag already. Manchester City are running away with things at the top, with the rest of the top six just too far behind in terms of points and performances. It’s hard to see any kind of challenge coming to Pep Guardiola’s side, but that doesn’t mean there’s little of interest happening in the Premier League. This season’s top four battle could break up the big six sides, while a few familiar names could end up in the Championship as things stand.
With so much going on, it’s hard to take your eyes off the Premier League this term, especially in the midst of a packed month of fixtures. English football is famous for gruelling December schedules, and this year is no different. The latest round of Festive games comes on Saturday, with Man City’s meeting with Tottenham the clear pick of the bunch. There are other high profile games, and we expect a few entertaining clashes across the country this weekend. That’s why we’ve picked out some both teams to score tips for Saturday and Sunday’s games, and we have some solid suggestions for your next BTTS accumulator.
Saturday 16th December 2017
- Leicester v Crystal Palace (10/11 with Betfred) – Palace come into this clash searching for just their second clean sheet of the season. Meanwhile, Leicester have conceded in five of their last six, and we think Palace will grab a goal in this trip after both of the encounters between these two sides last season saw both teams score.
- Chelsea v Southampton (21/20 with Betfair) – While Southampton have found their feet up front after a slow start, the Blues have one clean sheet in their last five. The champions have enough going forward to grab a goal in this game, but can see them slipping up at the back once again this weekend.
- Stoke v West Ham (11/13 with Ladbrokes) – Two of the league’s worst defences go head to head on Saturday, with both looking to push away from the drop zone. Neither side are appearing to be making improvements defensively, while the Hammers have a habit of slipping up in smaller games, so we’re backing BTTS in this one.
- Man City v Tottenham (4/6 with Betfair) – City may be running away with the title, but they face a tricky test on Saturday. The leaders have won one of their last five meetings with Spurs, and the visitors should cause problems here. With City conceding in every game since John Stones got injured, we’re backing BTTS here.
Sunday 17th December 2017
- Bournemouth v Liverpool (4/5 with Betfred) – This fixture was one of the highlights of last season, as Bournemouth won 4-3. The last three meetings between them have seen both teams score, while Bournemouth are peaking at just the right time ahead of this clash, which has backing BTTS.
