While we’ve been enjoying European football for a few weeks now, we’re almost done with qualifiers. Some of Europe’s top sides have arrived in the competition, and they’re gunning for a place in the group stage. With some big financial rewards on the line, we expect to see plenty of competition for places in these massive European ties. There’s plenty up for grabs, so sides need to leave their friendly approach at home, as these games could define their season.
With the losers dropping down to the Europa League, or out of Europe altogether, we expect some hard-fought contests this week, with so much on the line. We expect to see plenty of goals across both competitions, and there are some really interesting games spread between Tuesday and Thursday. Ahead of the midweek action, we’ve picked out our both teams to score tips for the coming games, and we can see plenty of goals across the Champions League and Europa League. If you’re looking for some BTTS acca tips, you’ve come to the right place.
Tuesday 15th August
- Hoffenheim v Liverpool (8/13 with Sky Bet) – The Reds haven’t signed the centre-half they need this summer, and that leaves them vulnerable against the Bundesliga’s surprise package. Neither have much European experience in their squad, so we should get an open game.
- Sporting v Steaua (6/4 with Bet365) – Sporting are heavy favourites to see off Steaua, but the Romanians have been impressive in front of goal in their early European fixtures. While we see the Portuguese side winning, Steaua carry enough punch to grab an away goal.
- Young Boys v CSKA (4/6 with Coral) – CSKA have scored in four of their last five away games in this competition, while three of Young Boys’ last four Champions League matches have seen both teams score.
Wednesday 16th August
- Istanbul Basaksehir v Sevilla (8/11 with Betfred) – Sevilla face a difficult trip to Turkey, which the hosts need to win. However, their lack of European experience could ultimately cost them against the Spaniards.
- Napoli v Nice (28/29 with Sky Bet) – These two attacking sides should play out a brilliant encounter, and we think BTTS is massively overpriced ahead of this clash.
Thursday 17th August
- Domzale v Marseille (13/15 with Ladbrokes) – Domzale are here thanks to a brilliant home record, while Marseille have a side packed with attacking talent, so goals seem likely.
- Ajax v Rosenborg (6/5 with BetVictor) – Rosenborg have been strong in their European displays so far, and they should grab a goal after scoring in seven of their last eight away in this competition.
- Apollon Limassol v Midtjylland (8/11 with Betfair) – Midtjylland have been BTTS favourites for us this season, and we expect them to continue their open style when they travel to Cyprus for this play-off clash, after scoring and conceding in every tie this season.
