Whilst most people will be chomping into their Easter eggs this weekend, the Premier League footballers will be rolling up their socks for another round of top flight fixtures. There are plenty of fixtures to get egg-cited (really, seriously – sorry!) about and we’ve picked out seven where we think that there will be plenty of goals.
Friday 14th April 2017
- Newcastle United v Leeds United (5/6 with BetVictor) – In the Championship late Friday night kick off, two big sides chasing promotion lock horns at St James Park. Newcastle haven’t been in great form lately but Leeds tend to struggle on the road so this is one which could go either way.
Saturday 15th April 2017
- Crystal Palace v Leicester City (5/6 with Coral) – Leicester City have been in great form since Craig Shakespeare took charge but there is a chance that the Foxes will take their eyes off the boil this weekend. This game falls in between two Champions League ties for the Midlands outfit and whilst we think they’ll score, you wouldn’t bet against Palace given their recent form.
- Stoke City v Hull City (19/20 with Bet365) – Hull City have a good chance of surviving in the Premier League this season and we think they’ll give Stoke a tough game on Saturday. However, whilst the Tigers may score, they have found clean sheets hard to come by and we’d back both keepers to be kept busy in this one.
- Watford v Swansea City (5/6 Betfair) – Swansea City have played their part in high scoring games of late and we think that this one will see both sides hit the back of the net. Watford are hardly the most inspiring side but they should get plenty of chances against a Swansea outfit who will look to get at them and go for the win.
- Southampton v Manchester City (4/6 Bet365) – Games between these two sides often tend to be very watchable affairs and we don’t think that this one will be any different. City, despite their endless riches, don’t look like they could buy a clean sheet at the minute yet at the other end the likes of Leroy Sane and Sergio Aguero have been in devastating form for Guardiola’s men.
Sunday 16th April 2017
- West Bromwich Albion v Liverpool (10/11 with Bet365) – Liverpool have a fairly poor defensive record and they conceded first last weekend before going on to beat Stoke 2-1. They have great movement up front but plenty of other sides have come unstuck at the Hawthorns, could Jurgen Klopp’s be next?
- Manchester United v Chelsea (19/20 with Bet365) – The glamour tie this weekend sees Manchester United and Chelsea lock horns at Old Trafford. The pair met recently in the FA Cup but that game was marred by a sending off for United as Chelsea won 2-0. We expect Sunday’s meeting to be a much more open affair.
