Another week and another round of fantastic-looking Premier League fixtures to get our teeth into. With the Manchester derby at the Etihad on Sunday being the highlight of the weekend, we’ll certainly analyse that one, but there are plenty of other tasty encounters to assess.
Liverpool’s potentially tough trip to a rejuvenated Newcastle, for instance, could go either way, while leaders Chelsea entertain near neighbours QPR at the Bridge. So read on as we bring you the latest Premier League betting tips which we hope will bring home a healthy profit.

Newcastle v Liverpool (12:45) – Newcastle +0.5 in the Asian handicap market (10/11 with BetVictor)
The doom and gloom has lifted slightly at St James’ Park after back to back victories against Leicester at home and away to Spurs. Though the Magpies still only have 10 points from their nine league matches, manager Alan Pardew has at least earned a little breathing space as his job seemed imminently under threat just a couple of weeks ago.
They are not out of the woods yet, but a couple more positive results and Newcastle can start to ease away from the relegation quagmire. If you think they can get the win against the Reds, back them at nice odds of 16/5 with Sky Bet.
Liverpool, meanwhile, haven’t hit top gear this season. Obviously the loss of Luis Suarez in the transfer market and Daniel Sturridge to injury haven’t helped matters, but Brendan Rodgers must be wholly frustrated that his new signings have, on the whole, failed to make any kind of impact. Defeats to Aston Villa and West Ham rang alarm bells, and the recent home bore draw with Hull certainly didn’t help matters.
Liverpool are priced as even money favourites for this one with Coral, but we think the confidence gained from Newcastle’s two recent wins will give the home side enough impetus to get a draw from this match. If Sturridge remains sidelined for this one we think Newcastle might even edge the victory and backing the home side in the Asian handicap with a +0.5 goal advantage looks a very solid bet to us.
Chelsea v Queens Park Rangers (15:00) – Chelsea to win by one goal (17/5 with BetVictor)
QPR are another side who earned a morale-boosting victory in the last round of Premier League matches, beating Aston Villa 2-0 on Monday night at Loftus Road. League leaders Chelsea are a different proposition to a confidence-sapped Villa, of course, and the bookies are so confident that the Blues will be victorious that the visitors are priced at massive odds of 18/1 with BetVictor to take the three points.
Given that Chelsea have won all their home matches and QPR have lost all theirs on the road in the Premier League this season, one would certainly suspect there is only one likely result here. But, as we know, football is a funny old game and no one would have predicted Sunderland’s 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge last season (Chelsea’s only home defeat of the season in the league). It should also be remembered that QPR won 1-0 at the Bridge on their last visit there in January 2013.
Having said that, we can’t see such an anomaly occurring on Saturday and backing the home side to win has to be the way to go, though it might not be as comfortable as the bookies assume, and taking the home side to win by a single goal could well pay dividends at nice odds.

Man City v Man United (13:30) – Man City to win and both teams to score (23/10 with Coral)
The big match of the weekend sees champions Man City host the most successful side in the Premier League era, Man United. Neither side has started quite as well as they would have liked. City have already drawn against Chelsea and Arsenal and – almost unthinkably – lost to Stoke and West Ham; United, meanwhile, have lost to Leicester and Swansea and drawn four other matches.
A victory in this one, though, would certainly get the season started for either side, and though Louis van Gaal’s men have a good dose of attacking talent amongst their ranks, we feel it will be the home side who run out victors on Sunday.
City have won the last three league encounters between these sides, and given how shaky the Red Devils’ backline has been this season we feel Sergio Aguero could have a field day here. City are too solid and too determined at home to let the visitors create too many chances and with Yaya Toure starting to hit form and David Silva playing well too we predict City will win this one with room to spare.
That is not to say the visitors won’t have enough to find the net at least once and backing the home side to win but both teams to score looks like a decent bet to us at favourable odds.
Aston Villa v Tottenham (16:00) – Tottenham to win (23/20 with Ladbrokes)
Aston Villa are in a wretched run of form at present having lost five on the bounce in the Premier League without scoring a single goal. Granted four of those were against Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Everton, but their Monday night defeat at QPR will have set alarm bells ringing amongst the Villa faithful.
Failure to get something out of this game will start to pile the pressure on Paul Lambert and his assistant Roy Keane, and the pair will be demanding far more effort from their players than was exhibited at Loftus Road.
The recent poor form from Villa is all the more mysterious after they started the campaign so well with three wins and a draw from their opening four games, including victory over Liverpool. But since then confidence has seeped away and they need a serious pep talk ahead of this clash.
Spurs, meanwhile, have also fallen away after positive signs from their opening matches. Mauricio Pochettino’s men have lost their last two, the most recent being a very disappointing home defeat at the hands of previously struggling Newcastle.
With only one triumph in their last seven in the league, Spurs are also desperately in need of three points from this one, and we feel they should just about have the ammunition to get the job done. Backing the visitors to win at 23/20 with Ladbrokes looks the way to go, though backing under 2.5 goals also appeals as the outcome is far from predictable.
