The groups for World Cup qualifying will really have taken shape by the time this international break is over. That is good news for the teams who have already picked up a couple of wins but it does mean that other nations are thinking about hitting the panic button. Whatever the predicament of national teams around Europe, we know there is profit to be made from Sunday, Monday and Tuesday’s fixtures which is why we’ve provided you with three accas below.
Easy Winner – 6/5 (BetVictor)
- Wales to beat Georgia (1/4) – Wales were made to work very hard for a point against Austria but should manage a win much more comfortably when they take on Georgia in Cardiff on Sunday.
- Bosnia and Herzegovina to beat Cyprus (3/10) – Bosnia and Herzegovina were devastated to miss out on a spot at Euro 2016 in the playoff round. They’ll give their chances of automatic qualification for the World Cup a boost by beating Cyprus at home on Monday night.
- Poland to beat Armenia (1/3) – Poland are in yet another tricky qualification group. However, they should be able to solidify their position in Group E with a routine victory over Armenia on Tuesday night.
Medium Risk – 9/2 (Sky Bet)
- Greece to beat Estonia (3/4) – Greece were one of the more notable absentees from Euro 2016. If they want to ensure they don’t miss out on a spot at the World Cup, they’ll have to win matches like Monday’s against Estonia.
- Denmark to beat Montenegro (4/6) – Denmark know the pain of missing out on a major international tournament at the final hurdle. They’ve got a real chance of topping their group in World Cup qualifying but only if they take full advantage of their home game against Montenegro on Tuesday.
- Romania to beat Kazakhstan (10/11) – Romania have a real chance of getting out of Group I and into the playoffs at least but they’ve got to be at their best to do so. Christoph Daum has some talented players available to him and they should have enough about them to beat Kazakhstan even away from home.
Long Shot – 35/1 (Bet365)
- Italy to beat Macedonia and both teams to score (7/2) – Italy will wonder just how they managed to get out of their game against Spain with a point. The Azzurri look worryingly poor at the back and, although they’ll surely beat Macedonia, a clean sheet is far less certain.
- Slovakia and Scotland to draw (23/10) – Scotland are still a work in process but they’ve shown some encouraging signs in recent months. Gordon Strachan’s team are very competitive and have some real quality in attacking positions. If they keep things tight at the back, Scotland could battle to a hard earned point away to Slovakia.
- France to beat the Netherlands (7/5) – Buoyed on by their home fans, France showed over the summer that they are a major player on the international scene once again. They’ve now got to put the hard work in to make it to the World Cup. The Netherlands are nowhere near the force they used to be so France can record a big away win on Monday.
