After plenty of goals and action from the most recent round of Champions League fixtures, we get to do it all again with the return games on Tuesday and Wednesday. There was a combination of surprise results and ones which were more predictable a fortnight ago so this is the perfect set of fixtures to create a selection of trebles ranging from a short odds gimme to a longer odds shot.
Easy Winner – Evens (BetVictor)
- Man Utd to beat Benfica (1/3) – Man Utd’s form may have cooled down of late but they’re sure fire winners against Benfica. The Portuguese champions are pointless after three games and that’s not going to change after their trip to Old Trafford.
- Bayern Munich to beat Celtic (2/7) – Bayern Munich were way too strong for Celtic when they met in Germany a fortnight ago. They’re getting comfortable under Jupp Heynckes once again and Bayern should secure the same result in Glasgow.
- Barcelona to beat Olympiakos (2/11) – Barcelona weren’t exactly at their best when Olympiakos visited the Camp Nou but they still picked up a 3-1 win. A fourth win in Group D would give Barca one foot in the knockout stages and they should oblige in Greece.
Medium Risk – 13/1 (Ladbrokes)
- Over 2.5 goals in Basel v CSKA Moscow (evens) – Basel were excellent in their 2-0 away win against CSKA Moscow but they’ll be disappointed if they think they’ve broken the Russian team’s spirit. CSKA are fighting for their place in the knockout stage and their desperation should result in an entertaining match.
- Man City to beat Napoli (7/5) – An away game against a team flying high in Serie A is arguably the biggest test that Man City have faced. They did well to secure three points at home but having seen Napoli up close and personal, Pep Guardiola will know just where his team need to improve which could end up in a crucial win.
- Tottenham to beat Real Madrid (2/1) – Tottenham were more than a little lucky to leave the Bernabeu with a point last time out but they’ve played some excellent football of late and deserved their luck. Things could be even better at Wembley. Spurs fear nobody at the moment and with Dele Alli returning from suspension, they could secure one of the biggest wins of recent years.
Long Shot – 103/1 (Bet365)
- Roma and Chelsea to draw and both teams to score (3/1) – The game between Chelsea and Roma at Stamford Bridge was one you couldn’t take your eye off. This is another huge game and they could end up sharing the spoils in another entertaining encounter.
- CSKA Moscow to beat Basel (3/1) – CSKA Moscow were very much second best against Basel but they’ve still got every chance of making the knockout stages if they return the favour with a win in St. Jakob-Park.
- RB Leipzig to beat Porto and both teams to score (11/2) – RB Leipzig are taking to the challenge of the Champions League in the same way they’ve taken to every other challenge. They beat Porto 3-2 last time out and another high scoring win in Portugal is on the cards.
