The Premier League got off to a flyer with Arsenal’s 4-3 win over Leicester last Friday night and the entertainment didn’t let up all weekend long. We’ve got yet more tasty fixtures to enjoy one weekend on and, as ever, we’ve brought you three trebles of increasing odds to help you profit from the action.
Easy Winner – 7/4 (BetVictor)
- Man Utd to beat Swansea (4/11) – Man Utd will be aware that Swansea will be much more organised than West Ham were last weekend. However, buoyed by that 4-0 win, Jose Mourinho’s team should double their points tally.
- Liverpool to beat Crystal Palace (4/11) – A tiring midweek match against Hoffenheim is not ideal preparation for Liverpool but they should still have enough to see off the challenge of Crystal Palace at Anfield.
- Over 1.5 goals in Burnley v West Brom (40/85) – There have been four goals scored in each of the last six meetings between Burnley and West Brom. They’re not the most fashionable teams but they should serve up another entertaining game at Turf Moor.
Medium Risk – 9/1 (Sky Bet)
- Bournemouth to beat Watford (19/20) – It was a disappointing start to the season for Bournemouth. They never really got going against West Brom but Eddie Howe will be expecting much more from their first home game. Watford were a little chaotic against Liverpool and the Cherries can control the game to pick up their first three points.
- Both teams not to score in Leicester v Brighton (4/9) – Brighton fans were happy with their display against Man City but they must have been gutted to have come so close to shutting City out. They’ll take another defence-first approach into the game against Leicester so bet against both teams scoring.
- Tottenham and Chelsea to draw (5/2) – The curse of Wembley looms large over Tottenham’s first league game at their temporary home. Spurs were much better in the first weekend than their London rivals Chelsea but the Blues haven’t become a poor side over the summer. This should be a tight game between two potential title rivals and a draw looks the most likely outcome.
Long Shot – 77/1 (Bet365)
- West Ham to beat Southampton (4/1) – West Ham were well and truly thrashed by Man Utd last weekend. That deflated the fans who were otherwise feeling good about the club’s summer business. Southampton will be solid again this year but West Ham need a win badly and having won at St Mary’s last season, they could repeat the trick on Saturday.
- Newcastle to beat Huddersfield (21/10) – For West Ham, read Newcastle. Rafa Benitez is desperate to get a win as quickly as possible and he takes his team to a ground at which they won last season. Huddersfield were excellent against Crystal Palace last weekend but the Magpies will be confident of collecting all three points.
- Over 3.5 goals in Burnley v West Brom (4/1) – Another four goal classic may not be top of the list for Sean Dyche or Tony Pulis but with both teams looking to kick on after opening day wins, they may serve up an end to end game.
