Premier League managers have not been able to spend much time with their players on the training ground over the past couple of weeks. The fixtures have been coming thick and fast so it’s a case of having to make the best of what you’ve got. That’s resulted in some ropey defending but some brilliant entertainment and goals galore. With more of the same expected this weekend, let’s see if we can find some winning trebles from the action.
Easy Winner – 6/5 (BetVictor)
- Chelsea to beat Crystal Palace (1/2) – Chelsea’s position at the top of the Premier League keeps getting better and better. Antonio Conte has the Blues playing the most effective football in the division which is sure to be enough to beat Alan Pardew’s struggling Crystal Palace.
- Tottenham to beat Burnley (2/9) – Burnley are very poor on their travels. That’s not good news against Tottenham who can put teams away for fun at White Hart Lane.
- Over 1.5 goals in Man City v Arsenal (1/5) – This would be a huge victory for either Man City or Arsenal. Both sides are better going forwards than they are at the back so we should be in line for an entertaining game packed with goals.
Medium Risk – 31/2 (Sky Bet)
- West Brom and Man Utd to draw (14/5) – West Brom have a surprisingly good recent record against Man Utd. Tony Pulis’ side are also very difficult to beat so they could grab a point when Jose Mourinho’s men visit the Hawthorns.
- Leicester to beat Stoke (19/10) – Leicester rediscovered their mojo against Man City last weekend. Claudio Ranieri’s team need to keep up the pace to ensure they focus their attentions more on the top of the table than the bottom and they should be able to heap the pressure on Mark Hughes with the sort of counter attacking display that served them so well last season.
- Bournemouth/draw double chance against Southampton (1/2) – Southampton have not quite gelled yet under Claude Puel. With injury and form concerns about the Saints, Bournemouth should be able to avoid defeat at home in the south coast derby.
Long Shot – 75/1 (Bet365)
- Swansea to beat Middlesbrough (5/2) – Middlesbrough look like a side set for a lengthy relegation battle. They’ve not yet found their feet in the top flight and with all the pressure on them at home to Swansea, the away side could just return to South Wales with a crucial three points.
- Arsenal to beat Man City and both teams to score (5/1) – There’s no doubt that Man City have the attacking quality to win the Premier League but they won’t win anything until Pep Guardiola sorts out their defence. Arsenal can become the latest side to capitalise on City’s shoddy work at the back.
- Liverpool to beat Everton and both teams to score (13/5) – The Merseyside derby is always fiercely contested but with neither side at their best of late, Monday’s fixture will have more on it than normal. Recent results have brought the teams a little closer together in terms of morale but both remain weak at the back. Both teams should capitalise on the other’s poor defence but Liverpool have the added firepower that may just swing the game in their direction.
