It’s nearly time to turn our attention back to the Premier League but before we do, there’s another round of fixtures on the international scene to enjoy. We’ve got a combination of World Cup playoffs and friendlies ahead of us over the next few days and whatever’s on the line, there is profit to be made from the bookies. So, we’ve created three trebles of increasing odds to give three chances of pocketing some winnings.
Short Price – 13/10 (Coral)
- Switzerland to beat Northern Ireland (4/11) – Switzerland got more than their fair share of luck from the referee in the first leg against Northern Ireland. However, they were much the better side and should finish the job with a win in Basel.
- Over 1.5 goals in England v Brazil (1/4) – A 0-0 draw was a good result for England against Germany on Friday night. However, the fans who head to Wembley Stadium on Tuesday night will be expecting more entertainment when Brazil visit. They’re unlikely to be disappointed.
- Belgium to beat Japan (4/11) – Belgium couldn’t quite live up to the billing at Euro 2016 but with another two years of experience for this quality squad, they should fare much better at the World Cup. Expect Roberto Martinez’s team to prove their class against Japan on Tuesday.
Medium Risk – 10/1 (Ladbrokes)
- Italy to beat Sweden and under 2.5 goals (15/8) – At 1-0 down in the tie, Italy must remain in control against Sweden in the return leg at San Siro whilst ensuring they offer an attacking threat. The Azzurri are a quality defensive unit with some excellent strikers so they should be able to secure a low scoring win to either qualify or take the tie to extra time.
- Brazil to beat England (4/5) – England’s young team did a good job against Germany but they’re set to face a stronger looking Brazil side on Tuesday night. Brazil always want to put on a show away from home and they should oblige their fans by beating England on Tuesday.
- Germany to beat France (Evens) – Germany played their part in what was an enjoyable 0-0 against England but they’re never happy when they don’t win. The world champions have incredible strength and depth and should get the job done against France.
Long Shot – 77/1 (Betfair)
- Italy to beat Sweden 2-0 (5/1) – Having lost 1-0 in Sweden, Italy know exactly what they need to do in Milan on Monday night. This is nation with a history of doing just what they need and so a 2-0 win at San Siro looks well priced at 5/1.
- Croatia to beat Greece and both teams to score (15/4) – Croatia were very good in their 4-1 win over Greece but that goal for the Greeks just sews the seeds of doubt. The away side will be keen to blow those doubts away with a win but they’ll have to score twice to do so.
- Spain to beat Russia to nil (7/4) – Spain look like they’ll head to Russia in good shape and full of confidence in the summer. It’s unlikely we’ll be able to say the same about the World Cup hosts who are struggling and may not even score against Spain on Tuesday.
