Club football has given way for the international break, which might be the best time of the year for both teams to score betting. Thursday 5th October 2017
- Northern Ireland v Germany (23/20 with Coral) – Northern Ireland have wrapped up second behind Germany, meaning these two are essentially secure in their group ahead of this clash. We expect the hosts to push forward in their final home game of the campaign and get a goal in what should be an open game.
- Scotland v Slovakia (evens with Ladbrokes) – Scotland’s defence is unlikely to stand up to a Slovakia side who scored at Wembley last month, but the hosts know they need to get goals to have any chance of making the play-offs, so this should be an open, high-scoring clash.
- Bolivia v Brazil (3/4 with Bet365) – Bolivia is a really tricky place to go given the high altitude, but Brazil can take things a little easier having already qualified. Their lack of ambition should help the hosts score, while it’s hard to see Brazil’s impressive attack being stopped.
Friday 6th October 2017
- Georgia v Wales (11/8 with Betfair) – Georgia are far from the biggest side in this group, but they have an excellent scoring record. They’ve seen both teams score in seven of their eight qualifiers so far, and we expect a repeat here.
Saturday 7th October 2017
- Bosnia v Belgium (8/13 with Betfred) – This is a crunch group game for the hosts, and we expect Bosnia to take advantage of Belgium’s poor organisation at the back, while the visitors have enough talent to get a goal here.
Sunday 8th October 2017
- Slovenia v Scotland (4/5 with Coral) – Slovenia should be more open in their final group game, especially against a Scotland side who need to attack.
- Lithuania v England (Evens with Bet365) – England have little on the line in their final game, which should lead to changes from Southgate. We expect Lithuania to take advantage in front of their own supporters.
Monday 9th October 2017
- Wales v Republic of Ireland (10/11 with Ladbrokes) – These two will be gunning for qualification in Cardiff, which should be entertaining. The Welsh have had score draws at home to Serbia and Austria already in this group, so we’re backing BTTS here too.
