After a long summer, domestic football is finally back on our screens. While the Premier League’s latest batch of mega-signings have another week on the sidelines, the Football League returns this weekend. All three levels below the top flight are back, while league football also returns in Scotland. It’s safe to say that those quiet Saturdays are a thing of the past – until September’s international break at least. With a packed schedule, we think this is the perfect time for a both teams to score accumulator.
The Championship is always an exciting league, while there are plenty of goals to be found in the Scottish Premiership. With a full fixture list in both, along with the Community Shield, there’s more than enough to keep us entertained this weekend. We’ve gone through all those matches and found our both teams to score tips, spanning from Friday to Sunday. With sides looking to hit the ground running, we’re expecting a few wide open matches, which should see us land a few BTTS winners.
Friday 4th August 2017
- Sunderland v Derby (4/5 with Bet365) – Sunderland return to the second tier after an awful season, and they’re going to struggle against a decent Derby outfit. We’re backing joy for Gary Rowett’s side here, but the newly relegated side should find the net at home.
Saturday 5th August 2017
- Fulham v Norwich (4/6 with Betfred) – Fulham were one of the most entertaining sides in the league last season, but they were too open. Given that 74% of their home games saw both teams scoring, and 70% of Norwich’s trips were the same, we’re backing goals here.
- Wolves v Middlesbrough (19/20 with Ladbrokes) – Wolves have spent big this summer, while Boro have reinvested their Premier League parachute payments as they look for a speedy return. Both sides are eying promotion, and we see both scoring here.
- Sheffield United v Brentford (7/10 with Coral) – No side saw BTTS on the road more often than Brentford last season, with 70% of their matches ending without a clean sheet. We’re backing more of the same against newly promoted Sheffield United.
- Aston Villa v Hull (10/11 with Sky Bet) – Aston Villa have a few issues to iron out before their promotion push, while Hull have brought a strong squad down with them to the second tier. We see the Tigers scoring here, while Villa found the net in 96% of their home games last term.
Sunday 6th August 2017
- Motherwell v Rangers (19/20 with Bet365) – Rangers saw both teams score in 74% of their away trips last term, while they’ve looked a little disorganised this summer after a plethora of new names joined the club. That has us backing BTTS in this clash.
- Arsenal v Chelsea (4/7 with Betfair) – Arsenal should trouble the Blues here, just as they did when they beat them 2-1 in the FA Cup final in May. With new strikers on both sides, goals are likely in this clash so both teams to score looks a banker with the pressure off.
