While there’s no Champions League action to look forward to in midweek, the Premier League is picking up the slack. With a busy schedule, they’ve had to play a raft of rearranged games this week. Matches which were postponed for FA Cup and League Cup games have been rescheduled, which gives us three nights of Premier League football to look forward to. There are key encounters at the top and bottom of the top flight, so there’s plenty to keep an eye on.
The race for promotion to the Premier League is also in focus this week, as Huddersfield and Newcastle are both in action. The Magpies kick off a busy week with a game on Monday. We think it’s a perfect time for a both teams to score accumulator, especially with midweek matches getting thin on the ground in the closing stages of the campaign. Ahead of these bonus league matches, we’ve picked out our BTTS tips across the Premier League and Championship, and you can see those below.
Monday 24th April 2017
- Newcastle v Preston (17/20 with Ladbrokes) – Newcastle have just one clean sheet in their last five league outings, something Preston can take advantage of on Monday. However, the hosts need points to secure promotion, so we’re backing them to find the net too.
Tuesday 25th April 2017
- Chelsea v Southampton (evens with Bet365) – Chelsea have conceded in 10 straight Premier League matches, and we see Southampton capitalising on that run this week. The Blues have scored in every home league match, so we’re going with BTTS here.
- Wolves v Huddersfield (4/6 with Coral) – Huddersfield have conceded in five of their last six matches in the Championship, and we can see Wolves causing more problems for them. The Terriers are looking shaky in the run in, although they’ve maintained their scoring touch.
Wednesday 26th April 2017
- Arsenal v Leicester (8/15 with Betfred) – Arsenal are in awful form, and their defensive problems could get even worse this weekend. Their poor run at the back leaves an attacking Leicester side with an excellent chance to find the net, so we’re backing BTTS.
- Middlesbrough v Sunderland (evens with Betfair) – While these two aren’t high scorers, they should get their act together for a local derby. The bottom two are both poor at the back, and that should lead to a high scoring encounter where both teams score.
- Crystal Palace v Tottenham (8/11 with Sky Bet) – Crystal Palace have kicked into gear in recent weeks, and they can trouble another big side when they face Spurs. Tottenham have been excellent going forward of late, and they should have no trouble scoring at Selhurst Park.
Thursday 27th April 2017
- Manchester City v Manchester United (7/9 with Coral) – Pep Guardiola led his men to a 2-1 win at Old Trafford earlier this season, and he’ll be hoping for the same attacking intensity. However, their defensive record has got worse since that win, and they could be without two regular starters at the back, which has us backing BTTS.
