With some of Europe’s best attackers and teams on show, we always expect goals in the Champions League. The tournament usually gives us some high scoring games, before things get cagey in the knockout rounds. There are 16 huge games across Europe on Tuesday and Wednesday, and they seem like the perfect chance for a both teams to score accumulator.
With four English sides fighting to make the last 16, there’s quite a lot on the line this week. We’ve got big games for Manchester City and Arsenal, while Tottenham face a tricky test in Monaco. There are a lot of fixtures worth getting excited about, and they could be even better as part of your both teams to score accumulator or just as singles or doubles. Ahead of this week’s big matches in the Champions League, we’ve picked out our best bets for BTTS, which you can check out below.
Tuesday 22nd November 2016
- CSKA Moscow v Bayer Leverkusen (8/11 with Coral) – CSKA keeper Igor Akinfeev has been waiting 10 years for a Champions League clean sheet. Bayer should be able to extend that wait, although they’ve drawn all but one of their last six in this competition, so we’re backing the Russians to grab a goal.
- Monaco v Tottenham (4/5 with Betfair) – Tottenham lost 2-1 to Monaco on the opening day, which means they need to win away here. After two home defeats they have to push forward and claim three points this week. That should open this game up, so we’re backing BTTS.
- Sevilla v Juventus (10/11 with Betfair) – These two look set to qualify, they just need to settle on an order. After drawing the first meeting in Turin, both could do with a win to book top spot. These two are evenly matched, and we can see both finding the net.
Wednesday 23rd November 2016
- Arsenal v PSG (7/10 with Bet365) – PSG will try their hardest to win here to push for top spot in the group, but a high scoring draw will do to move them top. That means they’re forced to push forward at the Emirates. That should lead to an open game here, so backing BTTS looks like a smart move in this game.
- Monchengladbach v Man City (4/7 with Coral) – Manchester City just can’t keep clean sheets under Pep Guardiola. Gladbach are a strong pressing side and they should be able to score, but City will have too much for them in the end.
- Celtic v Barcelona (11/12 with BetVictor) – Celtic showed what they can do by drawing 3-3 with Man City and 1-1 away to Gladbach. They missed a penalty in the Camp Nou, but we’re backing them to do better here.
- Besiktas v Benfica (8/11 with Sky Bet) – These two are both competing to qualify in a very tight group. They drew 1-1 on the opening night, and since then the Turkish side have gone from strength to strength. On their own patch, they should have no problem scoring. They’re aren’t the most reliable at the back, however, so BTTS looks on the cards.
