With the final round of Premier League matches being played on Sunday there are still a few matches left which we feel will produce at least a goal for either side. Even those games in which neither side has much to play for can turn into veritable goalfests. Throw in a Championship play-off second leg match (which are always highly competitive affairs) and we have a fine bunch of both teams to score bets just waiting to line your pockets.
Sunday 11th May 2014
- Fulham v Crystal Palace (8/13 with Bet365) – Fulham are already relegated to the Championship while Palace have shown how to achieve a great escape, under the expert guidance of Tony Pulis. But with nothing at stake here we fancy both will throw caution to the wind and simply go all out for victory making both teams to score look a solid bet.
- Hull City v Everton (4/6 with Betfred) – Hull will have one eye on their upcoming FA Cup final against Arsenal, but their two main strikers – Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long – are ineligible to play at Wembley so will no doubt feature here, giving the home side some attacking bite. Everton are assured of fifth place but can’t finish fourth now and though we expect them to score we wouldn’t be surprised if this one finishes 2-2 or similar.
- Liverpool v Newcastle United (5/4 with Ladbrokes) – Liverpool may or may not be in win a chance of winning the title on Sunday, but nothing short of a big win here would give them a chance and as they go all out to get the goals we fancy Newcastle could sneak in one or two of their own. BTTS looks a very nice price here at 5/4.
- Norwich City v Arsenal (8/13 with Betfred) – Norwich are all but down (and might well be by the time this match kicks off) but they will at least want to give their fans something to cheer about here. They have struggled to score many goals all season but we fancy they will muster one here, albeit turning out to be merely a consolation. Back both to score here for a nice profit.
- Southampton v Manchester United (4/7 with Bet365) – Two sides with little to play for here, but we fancy both will go all out for the victory and we anticipate a very open match in which there are plenty of goals for both sides.
- West Bromwich Albion v Stoke City (4/6 with Betfred) – Stoke are playing for a top-half finish and a now-safe West Brom side will be playing without pressure for the first time in weeks. As such an end-to-end affair is likely to ensue with at least a goal apiece in prospect.
- Derby County v Brighton (10/11 with Sky Bet) – This second leg of the Championship play-off second leg promises to be every bit as exciting as the aforementioned Premier League games as the prize for victory is a chance to battle it out at Wembley for a place in the big time. Form goes out of the window and the winner will be the one who wants it most and executes most effectively. Overall we think it would be a big surprise if either side is able to keep a clean sheet in this one, so back both to score at nice odds.
