World Cup qualifying is back this weekend and there are some cracking fixtures taking place across the continents with Brazil’s match against Argentina getting the international break off to a cracking start.
We have had a look at the matches from the weekend however and with seven games form three continents there is plenty of value to be had in this week’s globetrotting tips.
Friday 11th November 2016
- England v Scotland (7/5 with Betfair) – England and Scotland have produced some really entertaining clashes in their recent meetings and we think that both keepers will be kept busy in front of a packed out Wembley. Scotland have been on a poor run lately but as they say, form goes out the window when it’s a derby.
- France v Sweden (6/4 with Betfair) – France should have enough about them to win their qualifying group and we think that they will get the better of Sweden on Friday. However, we can’t see them keeping a clean sheet with Sweden winning their last two matches. Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be missed but there are players ready and willing to step out of his shadow now he’s hung up his international boots.
Sunday 20th September 2016
- USA v Mexico (19/20 with Bet365) – Games between these two produce plenty of goals and we think that this one could be a cracker as the two rivals lock horns in Ohio. These two will likely secure automatic qualification but it should be a fiercely contested match all the same.
- Austria v Ireland (21/20 with Betfair) – Wales secured a good result in Vienna a few months ago and although Austria are good going forwards, they sometimes look a little shaky at the back. In what is likely to be the closest of all the European groups, neither team can afford to drop points and we think that this will be a match well worth tuning in to.
- Cape Verde v Burkina Faso (6/5 with Betfred) – Away from the hullabaloo of the European matches a cracking tie is being played out in the former Portuguese colony of Cape Verde. Both of these sides are very attack minded and as such, odds of 6/5 are far too good to miss out on.
- Wales v Serbia (evens with Betfair) – As Georgie showed when they travelled to Cardiff in the last round of fixtures, Wales will concede goals if you get at them and although Serbia aren’t blessed with plenty of attacking talent, they have enough to trouble Chris Coleman’s side. That said, when you can call upon Gareth Bale, you can be fairly confident of outscoring most other nations.
- Spain v FYR Macedonia (27/10 with Betfair) – This one is a bit left field and the odds certainly reflect that but if you like a high risk high reward bet then this is the one for you. Macedonia have scored in their last five matches including a 3-2 defeat against Italy and they could well score on Saturday.
