We had eight huge European matches last week, and they’re all quickly back in action, as there are eight Champions League and Europa League quarter-final second legs this week. With plenty of matches from UEFA’s two biggest competitions, we should get quite a few entertaining ties, especially as sides scrap to get back in contention or to book their place in the last four, with the end of the campaign now finally in sight.
The last batch of matches in Europe did feel a little one sided, although we did see at least three goals scored in each Champions League match. We’re hoping for a similarly high scoring week when the second legs roll around, and there are a few promising matches from both competitions. With so many big games spread across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night, we think this is the perfect time to piece together a both teams to score accumulator. Tuesday 10th April 2018
- Man City v Liverpool (8/13 with Betfair) – City were really poor in their meeting with Liverpool at Anfield, but we expect much better here, especially from an attacking point of view. However, with Liverpool finding the net 18 times in five away games in Europe, we have to go for BTTS in this clash.
Wednesday 11th April 2018
- Real Madrid v Juventus (4/6 with Coral) – Juventus should trouble a Real side who have kept just one clean sheet in their last 10 home matches in all competitions, but with Cristiano Ronaldo flying you expect the European champions to shade this one. We should get another high scoring game, and Juve should play a bigger part this time around.
- Bayern Munich v Sevilla (10/11 with Bet365) – Bayern have a 2-1 lead behind them here, but they did trail for a while in Spain last week. The Spaniards have now scored in 10 of their 11 Champions League games this term, including all of their away trips.
Thursday 12th April 2018
- CSKA Moscow v Arsenal (4/6 with Betfred) – Having conceded at the Emirates, expect Arsenal to slip up at the back at CSKA this week. The Gunners were able to cut through the Russians’ defence at home, so we’re backing BTTS to land for the fourth time in five Europa League games for Arsenal.
- Salzburg v Lazio (5/8 with Betfair) – Lazio have conceded their fair share of goals this term, including two away goals against Salzburg last week. These two should pick up where they left off, given that Salzburg have scored in five of their last seven home games in this competition.
- Marseille v Leipzig (3/4 with Ladbrokes) – Marseille have scored in six of their last seven at home in this competition, while Leipzig have found the net in six straight away trips ahead of this meeting.
